Where were fatal crashes recorded on 25 major U.S. roads?

This page brings three years of federal fatal-crash records into one place for 25 Interstate and U.S. route corridors. Choose a road to see its county-level count, the county total and the original NHTSA files. The numbers show what was recorded from 2022 through 2024. They do not rank road safety or decide fault.

What these records cannot answer

  • FARS covers fatal crashes only. It is not a count of all crashes, injuries, claims or lawsuits.
  • Road names come from state-coded FARS fields and are normalized only to Interstate or U.S. route numbers.
  • The corridor share uses all FARS fatal crashes in the county as context. It is not adjusted for traffic volume, road length, population or exposure and cannot compare road risk.
  • Crash or truck involvement does not establish fault, negligence, causation or legal eligibility.
  • We show yearly, pedestrian and truck totals from zero through four instead of hiding them.
  • Downloads do not include exact crash locations or times, case numbers, VINs, plates, names or narratives.
